REQUIREMENTS
In the summer of 1998, Expo.01 was forced by the Swiss media to go public with the status of the project. (Expo.01 had become a much-discussed, highly charged public event; after all, it was the first Swiss National Exhibition since 1964.) An entire nation wanted to know exactly where the billions were going. In addition, the Expo.01 management saw the need for a comprehensive website, for media and public alike, exhibiting all the projects in progress.

 REALIZATION
Under the helm of Pipilotti Rist, who was at the time the artistic director, Belleville realized a „digital press conference". The focus was on the contents and projects of the Swiss National Exhibition, presented on a web show that would leave a lasting impression of the exhibition's spirit. The press conference, which was attended by several hundred journalists, TV crews and project partners in Zurich's Palais X-TRA, was not only a huge success, but also a media breakthrough. Most importantly perhaps, it brought a much-needed change of atmosphere towards a more artistic Expo.01 - at least for a while.
